Resume Format for Freshers with No Experience: One-Page Sample + ATS Tips
A fresher resume should be one page with six parts: name and contact, a 3-line summary, skills, projects (before experience if you have none), education, and certifications. Remove photo, DOB, father's name and the "declaration".

- One page, simple font, standard headings – no tables or columns.
- Projects count as experience – write them with action + result.
- Summary = who you are + strongest proof + next goal.
Most fresher resumes get rejected in seconds – not because of marks, but because of format. Here is a clean resume format for freshers that recruiters and ATS software can both read.
The one-page structure

Show as text
- Name · target role – phone, email, city, LinkedIn
- Summary – 2–3 lines
- Skills – grouped, in plain text
- Projects / internships – 3–5 result bullets each
- Education – degree, college, year, score (if strong or asked)
- Certifications & achievements – only relevant ones
Delete these

Show as text
- "Objective: to work in a reputed organisation…"
- Photo, DOB, gender, marital status, religion, father's name – unless the employer asks
- Full home address (city is enough)
- "Declaration: I hereby declare…" and signature
- Skill rating bars and charts
A strong 3-line summary
Weak: "Hardworking fresher seeking a challenging role." Strong: "Computer Science graduate who built a Python attendance app now used by 2 college departments. Looking to grow as a junior backend developer."
Rewrite your summary in 3 lines: who you are + your strongest proof + the role you want.
Write project bullets that show value
Use Action + What + Result: "Built a web app with 2 classmates to replace paper attendance; designed the database and cut monthly report time." Only use numbers you can explain in an interview.

Frequently asked questions
What should a fresher write in a resume with no experience?
Projects, internships, college activities, volunteering and certifications – written like work, with what you did and the result.
Should I add a photo to my resume?
Not unless the employer asks. Most Indian private-sector employers don't need it.
Is a one-page resume enough for freshers?
Yes. One page is ideal for freshers and anyone with less than about 5 years of experience.
Should a fresher write an objective?
Use a 2–3 line summary instead of a generic objective. Say who you are, your strongest proof and what you want next.
PDF or Word for a resume?
Send a PDF unless the job portal asks for Word.
